classes
Hey everyone,

As the semester nears I'm starting to have second thoughts about my schedule, so I'd appreciate anything anybody can tell me about the following classes, particularly about the workload:

CFA AR389 Graphic Design Elective (is this all computer-based? which is what I'd prefer.)
CAS CS210 Computer Systems (honors)
CAS CS411 Software Engineering

Thanks in advance!

Grade Removal...
Has anyone had any success in having grades removed from their transcripts if they've re-taken courses?

More specifically, if you've failed out of CGS, then come back and repeated that coursework, were you able to get that first semester's grades removed?

Video Camera
Hello, bunite!

My best friend is coming into town and needs a video camera to do some interviews for a thesis. I've done some checking around on BU's website and there are several places that seem to lend out cameras for various purposes (and sometimes not for free), so I thought I'd ask ya'll: is there somewhere within BU that will lend me (a BU student) a video camera for something non-class related, preferably for free?

Thanks!

B-Line Notice
Well. Lightning just struck one of the wires over the B-Line tracks between Harvard Ave. and Packard's Corner, and so far it has disabled an inbound trolley between the two stops. Fire trucks and MBTA officials are on the scene, and they've let out passengers to run around on Comm. Ave., but I don't know if it will similarly affect the outbound route.

(Looking outside, officials are walking on both tracks, so I'm assuming they've temporarily suspended the outbound trolley as well.)

HF100 Intro to Hospitality with Buchin?
Sorry for another one of these class threads, but I am a senior looking to fill an elective and am registered to take HF100 w/ Buchin.  Has anyone taken this class and care to share their experience?  What is the course like, what types of work, etc.

I might drop it because I have been wanting to take Italian forever (and want to go into at least 2nd semester) so if anyone plans to drop LI111 w/ Raffo (I need 11-12), let me know!  HF100 is my backup.

Florida
So I leave for Panama City, FL friday to see Ally and I am unbelievably excited. I also booked my tickets for LA for August to see Meesh. So the Summer of traveling has begun, hopefully I won't run into to many obstacles flying. Life as of late has been good if a bit unexciting...which is fine with me, looking past September I see more excitement than I even care for coming between grad school and ANG. At the very least I'll be busy. I've decided to keep my summer goals, but I've also added on some year end goals, and am going to move my movie goal to 150 movies by end of the year...there's just some many good movies coming out Fall-Winterish (Quantum of Solace-Nov.7).

Here's the updated movie list:
Movies to see:
1. The Seeker - The Dark Is Rising
2. The Jane Austen Book Club
3. Quantum of Solace
4. Waitress
5. National Treasure II: Book of Secrets
6. Jumper
7. 27 Dresses
8. The Other Boleyn Girl
9. Anchorman
10. The Forbidden Kingdom
11. The Dark Knight
12. Hellboy II: The Golden Army
13. Fool's Gold
14. Beowulf
15. Children of Men
16. Miami Vice
17. Superbad
18. Horton Hears a Who
19. Kung Fu Panda
20. Becoming Jane
21. Walk the Line
22. Made of Honor
23. Vicky Cristina Barcelona
24. The Duchess
25. The Last Mistress
26. The House Bunny
27. Eagle Eye
28. Twilight
29. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants-2

And b-t-dubs....I TRIED to watch Spiderman-3, but like its predecessors it was horrible so I made it through all of 15 minutes.

Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite?
Does anyone know any info about the large band of 50 or so 14-year-old francophones walking slowly around Allston right now (11:15 pm, Tuesday night)?

grad CEES environment/energy program
Is anyone in the GRS grad program in environment and energy? A friend is applying, and is interested to find out anything possible about the program or how competitive it is.

Orientation
I'm not even sure if there are any more left, but if you are a Freshman and still have to go to orientation AND for those who already went and will be re-joining in the fall, please do every driver in Boston a favor and look at the lights when you cross the street. I almost killed about 20 people today driving maybe a mile.

I know a lot of people haven't lived in a city but someone is going to get seriously hurt, you CANNOT JUST RUN ACROSS THE STREET. Even if half of your group is across the street, STOP. They will wait for you. There's a ton of construction going on on Comm Ave right now and its really hard as is.

Thanks!
